“Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.”
Proverbs 10:12 (NLT)
Have you ever been angry or upset with someone and while trying to argue your point, they just got silent and stopped talking? There is a saying that silence is golden. Most people would agree without a doubt that hurt people usually hurt other people. Proverbs makes it clear that hatred is often to blame as the source of the pain inflicted. When we live our lives out of a hateful place, love is usually missing.
God reminds us in Proverbs 10:12 that even if we have hatred all around us causing many arguments, if we show God’s love and kindness towards one another, it will make up for any and all offenses. Show a little love to someone amid a world of hatred, and watch God’s love cover a multitude of sin.
