The events in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 were unnerving, shocking, disturbing, appalling and terrifying on so, so many levels. Anger, hatred, jealousy, cowardice and fear ruled the day. But God….
But God said that [He] did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP).

But God said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NKJV)
But God said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. John 10:10 (AMP)

But God said, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV)
But God said, “The battle is not yours, but mine.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NKJV)
But God said, “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)
But God said, “[Do] not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
But God said, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
But God said “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)

But God said, “I am sovereign.” (Psalm 33)
But God said, “I uphold the righteous.” (Psalm 37:17 NKJV)
But God said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27 NKJV)
But God said, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
But God said, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” Isaiah 55:8 (AMP)
But God said, “Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (NKJV).
I wrote this to help me process what happened.
