“Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?” This is the oath a witness takes before testifying in court. The court needs to hear the truth so it can come to a fair resolution of the issue at hand. Sometimes the witness tells the whole truth. Sometimes the witness tells the truth — as he or she sees it — and sometimes the witness lies. Very often, we have a problem with telling the truth. It has to fight through fear, doubt, anger, jealousy, unforgiveness, hidden agendas and embarrassment to make it to the light and sometimes it just doesn’t make it.
